The Vice Chancellor Federal University of Technology Babura, Prof. Sabo Ibrahim Birnin Kudu, has launched a 13-day ambitious Tree Planting Exercise that hopes to have 40,000 trees planted in Babura. He was supported by the Representative of the District Head of Babura and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bala Sidi Aliyu.
The launching ceremony took place at the permanent site of the University on Thursday, 22nd August, 2024. It is a collaboration between the Federal Government of Nigeria, the World Bank and Jigawa State Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Water Resources under the Agro- Climatic Resilence in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project.
Through the Community ACReSAL Committee, the programme intend to plant forty thousand trees in Babura, including within the two campuses of the University. Therefore members of the Babura Local Government ACReSAL Committee were also in attendance at the laun.
