The University shall continue to focus its attention on societal challenges by promoting relevant and high-quality skills that will prepare students for enhancing learning, research, development and self-reliance using the best reliable methods as enshrined in our vision.

Though your academic journey has just begun, it is imperative that the journey ends successfully. At the end of your programmes, the degrees to be awarded to you shall be based on your learning and character. For this to happen, you need to be punctual in attending your lectures, carryout all academic activities diligently, and shun deviant behaviours that can expose you and others to danger.

In addition to your academic activities, I will urge you to socialize and show respect to both staff and colleagues in the University, and equally be modest and decent in your dressings.

At this juncture, I would like to acknowledge the support we are receiving from the Federal Government, the Jigawa State Government and Babura Community in particular since the establishment of our University. However, as the saying goes “to whom much is given, much is expected”. Therefore, I wish to reiterate our determination that the University will continue to be administered in tandem with our core values, mission and vision to meet the high expectations of our stakeholders.

In conclusion, I wish to assure you of the determination of the University to provide conducive and maximum security on our campus. However, it is germane that you report any suspicious activities to the University Management. Also, note that any breach of the oath you took today will be met with appropriate sanction.

Once again, I thank you for your presence here today and pray that Allah (SWT) take you back to your respective destinations safely.

Thank you.
